Some lives unfold in unexpected ways, revealing their purpose one small step at a time. Mine began with a love for the land—a quiet reverence for the unseen forces that shape our days. More than 20 years ago, I brought home my first two little goats, unaware that they would become my greatest friends and teachers—patient creatures who live fully in the present, reminding me daily that joy is found in the rhythm of tending, making, and being.
That rhythm is what guides my work at Providence Hill Farm. Here, the alchemy of milk into cheese is more than a skill; it’s a practice of transformation, of honoring both tradition and intuition. My passion for artisan cheesemaking has been recognized in Mastering Artisan Cheese Making at Home, and my journey with goats has been featured in Dairy Goat Journal, but these moments of recognition are just echoes of something deeper: a devotion to living in harmony with nature, working with my hands, and sharing what I’ve learned with others.
I provide a space for people to reconnect with nature and their own creativity, offering opportunities to craft all sorts of wonderful things—whether it’s learning the art of cheesemaking, hiking with goats, baking in a wood-fired oven, or creating natural herbal products. Farmstead living is a beautiful, simplistic way of life—baking bread, growing food, working with animals, and making things by hand. If this calls to you, you are welcome here.
Over the years, my work has grown beyond the farm, intertwining with my lifelong studies in healing and transformation. I am a Certified Yoga Therapist with the Institute of Interdisciplinary Yoga Studies, a Certified Ayurveda Specialist with the Himalayan Institute, and a Certified Archetypal Consultant with the CMED Institute. I hold a Level 3 CPD Award in Animal Assisted Therapy and a Certificate in Therapeutic Art. As the Director and lead teacher of the Institute of Interdisciplinary Yoga Studies, formerly an IAYT-accredited yoga therapy training program and RYS 300/500, and a co-founder of Dharma House School of Yoga formerly RYS 200, I guide and support my students with humor and compassion, helping them uncover the patterns in body, mind, and spirit that shape their lives.
I move between worlds—the ancient and the modern, the mystical and the practical. My spiritual name, Dharana Shakti, given by Swami Premajyoti Saraswati, speaks to my path: dharana, the act of focused concentration, and shakti, the energy that flows through all things. Whether I’m guiding someone through their first cheese recipe, tending the herd, or leading a workshop, my aim is the same—to help others reconnect with the wisdom that already lives within them.
At Providence Hill Farm, everything we offer is created with intention. Our goat milk soaps, lotions, and herbal products are handmade using time-honored methods and sustainable, organic ingredients with zero waste packaging. Our workshops offer hands-on experiences in cheesemaking, soap making, candle making, herbalism, and even goat yoga. Whether you want to learn a skill, connect with nature, or simply slow down and breathe in the beauty of farm life, there is something here for you.
If you feel drawn to this way of life, I invite you to explore, learn, and create with us. The farm is a place of learning, of slowing down, of rediscovering what it means to live with intention. However you arrive, I hope you leave with something lasting—a skill, a memory, or simply the quiet understanding that there is deep beauty in creating with intention.
Over the years I have had many people request to work with me on the farm. It is a unique experience. If this is something that interests you, please contact us for more information.
